I initially had a bounty on Blue Valley for the first round under 60.  People took the "short cut" to get to #9 (Pre-Mando) and Ron Convers shot a 57 59 ( I was told privately by the person that told me publicly).  He got it, because he was old (see UTZ, all the old guys get a break, even in the Wide Open) and played before the youngsters did, so he won the $100 bounty that I had out there first with a 57.  I think that Brinster and Jesper were the other 2 that day that both shot a 57 (figured I better look at that information and found more errors in my story....  :o ) Markus, Kyle Cabtree, and Nate Doss all shot 58, with Brinster having the top at 57, he felt that since he had the lowest, he should have received the bounty, but I told him the first one in got it....

The thing that I remember though is Sprague (shot a 67 that day) complaining that the Mando wasn't in effect.  He had been staying with me, and did a presentation for a group, and was just helping out around here, and didn't practice BV, because he had played it.  It was the first year of the "True par 5" on #9, and he shot first, went the direction of the hole (up the hill) and everyone else on his card went towards #11 fairway......He was MAD!

Classic.

All you oldies and your damn perks! I'll stay young and fresh for a lil bit :)

So Jack, hole 8, if its placed in its long position is like 700+ foot hole right? Are there baskets also in the long setup? or did we just get 17, 18 and 1 back?

I cant believe Convers shot a 57. good for him. what a world class course, and I'm headed there for a 1pm tee time.

Thanks Jack~ Good luck out there Hinck, I'm sure you'll tear it up. I just go out there and hang on for dear life, and make my putts :)

Hahaha, yes tis true, Hinck can't putt...but someday I'll learn and there'll be no looking back. while I'm still young, driving for show is still pretty fun. The dough will come eventually.

Utz, I don't know what Dan did on the Long course in all honesty.  I think that you mean #7 long.  You have to go through the gap after the "short" pin and then back up the hill.  Since it hasn't been cleaned up in a few years, I bet that it is still in the "short" placement.

Well, 15 mph winds gusting to 20+ aren't conducive to breaking 60...settled with a 64. Can't say putting was the issue this time, just some crazy wind making the discs do crazy things on a very high hill
