Wood was actually something I looked into. The samples he had to work with would not have worked and the stuff he was going to test next would not have been here for a few more weeks.

I could live with one of those. 

Just for the record, I really like the leather tags.  And even if it gets all wet and starts to stink, well, to me that will be the smell of participation.  Unless I'm holding tag #1.  Then that will be the smell of ridiculous luck mingled with subtle hints of victory.
