I dunno man, I dont really buy it. then you'd have 8am tee-time guys saying 2pm tee-time guys scores aren't comparable.
You cant give Tank the nod just because he played open. Conditions are really irrelevant. we all played the same courses.
They often aren't comparable. In Felberg's video-blog that Matt posted about on something (here or Facebook, I don't care to look back) he spoke of how, especially when the wind is gusty, you can't even compare your throw to someone who is teeing right before or after you. I think that is taking it a little too far, but the point is still valid.
Think back to the US Open (ball golf variety) a couple years back at Bethpage Black. The afternoon tee times got hosed because a giant storm came through and then the very next day, when they flip the tee times they got hammered again. The opposite tees, though, had a much easier go of it and had a much higher percentage of golfers that made the cut from those times.
My point was really, though, that in different conditions on different courses and with different competition the scores are not comparable and at that point the nod has to go to the Open field.
Winning Am is a great accomplishment and I'm not trying to take anything away from that feat. I am just saying that if you want to consider high KC finisher for that weekend it should come from the higher division.
And the wonderful thing is that all of this arguing is really irrelevant. We'll get to battle it out on the course to see who will come out on top. You guys got us last year (no thanks to Arturo's boss!) but I would imagine things will shake out a little bit different this year. Enjoy that trophy while you can.
