Here are a few photos from my camera phone, which seems to grow increasingly crappier by the day:

There was a mistake in the scoring. I'll get to that a bit later.

Card 4: East (1) - Matt Perry and Kevin Manning over Joe Hesting and Bryan Mike Davis - 3&2
Card 5: West (1) - Bobby Villarreal and Dick Parker over Dave Valdiviez and Ryan Keck - 1up

Official results for the 3rd round of the 2013 Kansas City Team Challenge

Course: Cliff Drive
Format: Matchplay singles
Match 1: East (1) - Tavish Carduff over Kaylee Kincaid - 7&6
Match 2: East (1) - Amanda Jackson over Minna Dennis - 4&3
Match 3: All Square (.5 each) - Nick Winkelbauer vs Ryan Keck

Match 6:  East (1) - Dave Valdiviez over Dick Parker - 1up

Match 15: All Square (.5 each) - Arturo Villarreal vs Jake Bowen
Match 16: West (1) - Ken Franks over Kevin Manning - 3&2

The white board scoreboard showed West wins 16.5 to East 16.  Does anybody see the math mistake here?

There are only 32 points available, not 32.5. Scoring got messed up along the way and the silly organizer didn't bother checking 'til before leaving the park this evening.  East earned 7.5 points in the 3rd round, Team West earned 8.5 points.

Official tally:
West 16.5
East 15.5

Congratulations to the West! Well done to the East for battling back to make it close.  Thank you out to everyone that supported the event by playing and or watching.

So it's 1-1 but east side is still up 36.5-27.5 in aggregate?  Good to know east side is still in the lead.

No such thing.

Last year's event had double points on the best shot round so it isn't even comparable.

And...

ROCK CHALK!!! (and emaw I guess. Just for Joe)

As you sit there trying to figure out how things could have been different, but unable to find relief for your pain and frustration, I want you to know that the sting is going to last a while. You got beat. You had chances but your putts didn't stick, you just hit too many trees, you didn't find the right lines, and you just couldn't shake off your doubt enough to bring it home for your team. You lost. You lost for your whole team. I bet you're wondering why you were on the team in the first place. But take pride in knowing that you were the best that your state had to offer. If not you, who? No one. And if you had been able to make that one putt... You would have won. You would have been able to say that you did it again. But you didn't. You lost. Maybe it's your lot in life. Maybe this is just the way it's always going to be.

There will be no party at Jack's this year... The Missouri Cup decorated with a bronzed JAYHAWK on top now belongs to Kansas. If you wish to visit it, please build up your talent and try to defeat us next year.

Mr. Dick Parker has agreed to take over the reigns for the West side as captain and I suggest that GI Dave take over for team second place. This should make for some interesting work place chatter and allow a lot of time for both of them to come up with match ups, etc.

I hope next year that a temp course will be used to make this more interesting.

I now have a reason to move back here before this goes down next year.
