so it looks like nt and a tier again? please consider scheduling the age rejected pro divisions with the younger pros. last year was ridiculous waiting no less than 5 minutes on EVERY hole, more than 30 on some. it got so bad we started carrying full size lawn chairs at swope on saturday.
refresh my memory, how many other nt events shuffled the old folks off to the next lower tier?
It's seems to be a trend to play as slow a round as possible in tournaments. Pick up the pace folks. It has far less to do with pre-throw routine than it does with so many people walking the course like they are helping their 105 year old grandma around. This isn't casual rounds people. Slow play, which includes moving from shot to shot and green to tee, is a violation of the rules. Refer to the competition manual, which you got in your PDGA packet.:
3.2 Pace of Play
- All competitors shall play without undue delay and will make every effort to keep up with the group in front of them. Players are required to quickly move from the completion of one hole to the tee area of the next hole. Also, while advancing down the fairway, the player shall not unduly delay play by his or her actions.
- A player causing undue delays may be issued an excessive time violation by tournament officials. Please see PDGA Official Rules of Disc Golf 804.01 Excessive Time regarding specific penalties.
You have to be aware of your position on the course. By rule, you're required to
quickly get from one hole to the next and you can't delay play by your actions (turtle slow walking). There is no reason to fall behind the group in front of you. Even a lost disc here and there (3 minutes to search for it) shouldn't leave your group multiple holes behind the group in front of you.
