Those numbers are getting quite large.

Could you explain how the ace fund works once more?  Dollar to get in for each club event.  How much pay out for member / non-member?

If a member or non-member hits an ace during a league and they paid into the ace fund that day they get 50% of the ace fund, including that evenings contribution. Whether the person is a member or non-member we will take $20 off the top for club dues. In other words, if you're a non-member and hit an ace, you're now a member. If you are a member and hit an ace you won't have to pay your dues for a while. We have some folks that will probably never have to pay dues again,

With that kind of incentive, it is a wonder that more people aren't showing up to try and drain the account.  How big will it get??

It will get as big as it gets. There is no precedent for other arrangements. You may recall Eric McCabe hitting an ace at the Thursday WW glow league last fall when the ace fund was over $1200. The $600+ he received for that certainly made his trip up worthwhile. Ace funds in KC have gotten over $1000 several times but that one was the highest I can think of.

Someone will hit one at WyCo one of these days. I know of three aces hit at other times so we all know it's possible. I've seen Tom Butler in and out on #5 and Doc skipped one off the basket there, both during league. Cecil Cameron has hit #8 and Pete Tady hit #6 short and a guy named Calvin hit #5 short all during casual play.

I can tell you who is seriously gunning for it at WyCo and that's Arturo. He's been there almost every week since early May and almost nailed #8 last week.

Regular WW league at one point was over $2000, and was hit by someone from Topeka I believe.  That was before the $1 discount, and directly contributed to the change in the $1 discount.

Before there was additional charge for non-members, after everyone and their friends started to show up, and it was hit by a non-club member I started a thread and this method seemed to meet with the most approval.

I wanted non-clubmembers to only get $50 for ace funds under $500, $100 for under $1000, etc......but alas this method seemed to be the best to everyone.

Now, for expired club members that hit an ace, as long as it is within 30 days of expiration you are ok, if it is over 30 days and you have not paid, then your loss (exceptions can be made if no notifications were sent.  Check your mailboxes soon as notifications were just sent this week.)

Hope that helps.

So what you are saying, Jack, is that if I were to hit an ace while an active dues paid club member with more than thirty days until my dues expire, I wouldn't have my dues taken out of the ace fund automatically. But if I were about to expire or expired I would have the dues taken out automatically? Is that correct?

You'd think I would know this since I would have probably been the one to write this down in the minutes of the meeting this was decided at.

nononononono

If your dues lapsed within the last 30 days, you have a grace period.  At no point is there a clause that would allow you to keep the $$ instead of dues removed, ask Beckett, Arturo, Todd Henry, Mike D........ I think that all of them have hit aces during leagues more than once in the same year.

Sorry for the confusion.

Hope this is as clear as mud.....

I'd be glad to hit an ace ever, whether it be during a practice round or league.  Getting a 1 would help offset all those 5's that I seem to be good at getting.
