It appears rain is likely on Saturday.  But winds not too bad; SSE @ 11mph.

One good thing about not being able to put down OB until the last minute is I can adjust for forecast winds.  Look for 10 to be a little wider off the tee.  But 13 will be a bit tighter than if the winds were forecast from the North.  13 is going to be a slightly different look than in recent years; only the green will be an island. As always, I suggest checking it out, as well as all the added OB and temp holes, on Saturday morning as part of your warmup.

And just because I like to keep people on their toes, we are back to playing just 18 holes per round.  This should make for a slightly quicker day :)

Too bad we can't play the course like it plays all Summer in League. Paint sucks.

No it doesn't, Tom.

That is all.

I will say this, that snow better get to melting!

Tracy, do you anticipate existing snow will change your plans for paint? I wouldn't think it would be possible to paint on the snow. When it melts or gets down-trodden it would make an ambiguous line, at best.

Yes, obviously white paint on snow won't work.  However, my plan is not to paint the OB's until tomorrow afternoon.  By which time, fingers crossed, all the snow will finally be melted. There is only 2-3" left. Even if some snow lingers where the lines are to be drawn, I will deal with it in one way or another.  Also, I'll be flagging up the lines.  So if, for some reason, a line becomes indistinguishable in the area of concern, just use two flags to determine OB between them.

Everything is going to be fine. Unless you're an OB hater, in which case, things are going to be even better... for my enjoyment.   :P

I just became inspired to have at least one hole painted up all Summer.   8)

I think the silly lines will remain intact, even with the overnight rain showers that are forecasted. If the silly lines do become indistinguishable, and some poor golfer who came out to have fun, but was instead unlucky enough to toss a disc OB at the unclear point be able to determine where the silly line is? Will each card have been issued a length of string to stretch between the two nearest flags to determine the OB, or is it just a visual, best guess and card decision? I think every hole should have silly, painted, OB lines and flags. It adds to the natural beauty of the land to have bright orange or white chemicals and plastic and wire flags all over it.  ::)

Every OB decision is a best guess consensus by those on the card. It doesn't matter if the OB is defined by string, road, bike path, paint or eye ball between flags.  Determining the point where a disc went OB has never been an exact science, Tom.

Wait 'til you see how beautifully the Hole #13  island green barrier adds to the esthetics of the park.   ;D   Nevermind, the Google Fiber trench across 13 and 16.

Readjusted to Scotts latest plan; no added holes, one ghost card. 3, 11, 14 and 18 are all possible ghost card starts. But in my opinion, 14 will be the best hole to ghost card from. Once the start card gets around the pond, the ghost card can tee off.  The card on 13 shouldn't finish before the ghost on 14 starts.  Even if a little backup eventually forms on 14's tee, they can provide spotter help for shots onto the fenced in green behind them.

#1  - Long Left (534') -> Short right (401') 2nd round.
#2  - Long (~625' - from google earth ruler tool) (OB added on left)
#3  - Left (555')  -> Right (519') for 2nd round.
#4  - Right (480') (Mando just off the tee)
#5  - Short (246')
#6  - Short (296')
#7  - Long right (549')
#8  - Short (286')
#9  - Left (445') -> Straight (462') (OB island fairway same as last few years)
#10 - Extra Long (680') (OB add on right)
#11 - Short (410') (Mando 2nd tree)
#12 - Short. (291')
#13 - Long (789') (OB and guarded island green added)
#14 - Dam (525')
#15 - Normal (330')
#16 - Left (465')
#17 - Middle (610') -> short (453') for 2nd round.
#18 - Straight (381')

So are these set for both rounds now?

Yes, the pins are all set, except #2 which we'll put a temp basket at the long setting Saturday morning.

Tracy, thank you for all the effort going into the course.  Should be a fun, if soggy day!!

I'm just looking at the distances on the holes then flipping back to the forecast for Saturday. Wouldnt ya believe it, the distances damn near doubled!

Should be a rough time out there tomorrow, good luck all!
