Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy?  It has one use.  For chugging after mowing the lawn on a 105+ degree day.  Stuff's like lemon water.

I drink from a super micro brewery called Motorhead Brewery . They only make three kinds, Burn-out Stout, Super Honey Bee and my favorite 30 Weight a nice smooth brown with Cascades' dry hopped.  They started back in the early 90's with help from a micro named Flying Dog from Aspen. Now if you haven't drank beer with the hop oil still in it , you need to try it, the buzz is different.  I grew up in St. Louis and drank the local most of my life. Then one day I was skiing in Keystone and had an Avalanche, like sex you can't go back.

But, I will drink what is on hand or free. I do like (Coors) Blue Moon and most Boulevards.
Who ever said it was easy ,never met me.

But it's no Zombie Dust.

Zombie Dust is my #1 delight.  I lived 40 minutes from 3 Floyd's and almost every bar in Chicago had several of their beer's on tap at any given time.  I moved here to KC last summer and the thing I miss most about Chicago is all the great, local, fresh, craft beer.  If anyone has any suggestions for local (regional) crafts that remotely enter the league of 3 floyd's please share :)

Let's bring this bad boy back to life.

Tallgrass Zombie Monkey

Anybody have it yet?  What do you think.

Last night I went to Cinder Block Brewery in NKC, minutes from Waterworks.  Fantastic little brewpub.  Simple and all about the beer.  Had their seasonal Grains of Wrath IPA.  Uberfantastic.  Highly recommended.

I'll have to check out Cinder Block. There is also another in nkc called Big Rip, have you tried that?  Look out for Rock and Run, coming soon in Liberty, a lot of taps and site brews. Good to see all these local microbrews pop up.

The results are already showing. In January, Green Room Burgers & Beer began brewing its own beer. Big Rip Brewing Co. opened in North Kansas City in May. Another four operations Cinder Block; the Kansas City Bier Co.; Martin City Brewing Co.; and the Rock & Run Brewery, in Liberty should be online by year's end. (Day trippers, take note: Broadway St. Brewing Co. opened in May 2012 in Concordia, Kansas, and Defiance Brewing Co. expects a fall launch in Hays, Kansas. Also in the Sunflower State, Wakarusa Brewery is headed to Eudora next summer.)

Just a no frills, roasty porter.  It doesn't quite rate up there with Founders Porter as far as an off the shelf and easy to find porter, but it's still pretty tasty.

Had Mothers winter grind on tap at Flying Saucer. Pretty darn good coffee stout.
