pin settings effect the ssa of each course

which in turn affect the ratings.

No there is no area in which it asked what the distances are. It ask how many holes were played and who played.

read it, deal with the compression, and note that the ssa for cliff long is higher than cliff short. 1000 rated players will decompress on longer set-ups. removing 803.b from the rulebook makes all this easier to process - it's just a game and you are more likely to beat or tie mcbeth on a short course

no, not directly.  I mean everyone is expected to play the same stipulated course.  But there is nothing about the physical course that is input into the ratings calculation.  (wait... maybe reported par is input, which is subjective and difficult to be accurate)

An SSA 1000 assigned to a layout is only good for the player pool that played that rated round on that day.  It doesn't translate to other pools or to other days.

Like I've said before, ratings are a convoluted and faulty system.

Tracy is right that you do input the par of the course but that is only for the +/- par display. Nothing to do with ratings calculations.

final post on this subject from me : ssa is the measure that a 1000 rated player throws on your course, so ssa is measured like a 50 for cliff short and like a 54 for cliff long. IF the ssa is 1000, you've got a real real long course. disc golf course review uses a measure of sse<scratch scoring estimate> for cliff it's 56. compression re-rates the ssa based on field, weather, temp pins or moving pins, pollution and whether a majority of the field smoked some iron leaf. either way, i would say cliff was not short on 3-18, and i'm predicting a 56 is a 980 round using stonermath, why? cuz i am not fazed by high-rated players, rain, wind, hanging baskets or seedless green. cliff league will start at 5:30 pm on monday 3-25, expect a cowbell but don't expect me cuz work has me "on-call" that night, but i hope to be there since i'm a propagator. please if you are a rated pdga player try to make this league, it's fun and math isn't really required IF someone keeps the card the entire round <hint - tracy, your cart, your card>

Definitely, taking all the rating talk aside, I had a nice fun round with my card on Monday.
We need more Am's to show up.

So were there any issues with the course itself? I haven't been down to the wooded holes in a couple weeks. Any large trash items or downed trees/limbs in need of removal?

Up by 12 tee there were a bunch of tires and downed branches and 12's fairway was pretty littered in general. The wooded holes were actually in pretty good shape from what I remember....

Definately had a good time playing with you guys! My heart is still racing from that drive that was an inch away from going into the reservoir  :P

Okay, that stuff was gathered up from other spots on the course last week, P&R has been notified and is supposed to come get it. Seems like they should have gotten to it by now. Thanks Andy!

I am probably not going to be back next week.  But I need to have the information about the PDGA #'s if possible, is it Ron Martin, or Rob Martin from Lawrence?

I have uploaded the results, I made it a par 56 based on #17 & #18 for the week.

Thanks Jack! Loved the setup even though I was super surprised we finished before we lost the sunlight, lol. When might we expect to see the payout info?
