Let the Open group finish at Woodhenge. Please.

I second this.

I third this.

I think it would be nice to finish closer to tournament central so that if groups finish earlier they have a chance to see the pros play... or I just want to be closer because it'll be closer.

But in all reality, I don't think there is an appreciable difference in the difficulty of the two courses. At most a stroke or two? There are a few bigger number holes at Woodhenge but there is also great opportunity for movement in the final holes at Blackthorn.

All I'm really saying is that it doesn't matter too much, they will both provide ample challenge and are similar enough.

Woodhenge has better finishing holes.  18 could use some teeth, but 17, 16, and 15 could see fortunes change.  The finishing holes on Blackthorn are rather weak.  Any movement on Blackthorn will be done in the front nine.  15 and 16 can throw kinks into anyone's game, but that doesn't amount to a good tournament finale.

I can't ever remember which course is which but the middle one is a lot easier than the other one though not by much. By my count, the middle course has 10 to 12 potential deuces: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 17 and maybe 1 and 18 (a few of these are must-haves) and the poorly named course to the left has just 9 deuces: 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16, and 17. And the finishing hole for the poorly named course is nowhere near tournament central so I vote for the middle course.

What is par for these courses? If a few of these holes are PAR 4's then these courses have a lot of birdies on them.

I agree with Dick....let the lower level players start with the tougher course and the pros finish with it.  A pro that throws 400+ feet has a better chance to make a move on the longer course than 300' throwing rec player.
Sorry to hear about your luck!!!   :P

Not playing....Don't really care but....
Scott do what you want.  I would listen to Dick as it is his courses that he designed.  I would hold it in higher regard than anyone else's comment, and I would still do what I (You as the TD) wanted to do.

It is an event that the TD decides how to play it, and shouldn't be based on fodder in a forum.

All things being equal, thank your lucky stars that Scott has elected to allow you to enjoy playing golf on a course that was designed by Dick in a mannerism of a competitive nature.

You go where he says, and you throw plastic where Dick said. >:( ;D 8)

I have a question about hole 15 at WoodHenge.  I understand that the path, water and rocks are OB.  But do you have to make the fairway to be considered inbounds.  There is a small strip of green right and left of the path then it moves off into the ruff.  Is that ruff area inbounds?

You can throw across the path to the left and be in Bounds. The path is to be considered a river that runs through. You land on it completely covered, you are OB. Unless Scott says otherwise.

So is there a bigger fairway cut on the left side of the trail?

It takes our entire community to make this event work, and we need your help.  Just because my name is listed as the TD, it doesn't mean that I can do it all.  I want/need your input, and would love to have it.

So can we not give idea's that we think might help the tournament?
