That's it? That's the whole review?
I was writing more but ran out of time.
Really more doesn't need to be said. It is a big course with many challenging throws required. There are spectacular greens, wonderful tunnels, and scary approaches. Placement and accuracy are at a premium. Throwing far is helpful, but won't make or break a round out there.
Best holes: 2, 5, 12, 16
Worst holes: 7, 11, 15, 18
I think a more in depth review would be required if it were further away, but there is no reason a large contingent of KC players shouldn't frequent this course. It is only a little over an hour from Rosedale and well worth the drive. This course is unlike anything else in the area. It is like Blue Springs on steroids. The lines are tight and challenging; a few are a little less than fair, but the course is young and I'd expect them to be cleaned up.
The whole time I was playing it I kept thinking about how similar it was to Maple Hill in its use of terrain and woods. There were a few fewer open shots than at Maple Hill, but throwing in and out of the woods and length combined with trees and rocks gave it that feel.
All I can say is play it. I'm planning on playing next Saturday at least, if I don't feel like taking a little detour home from work.
