« on: July 02, 2015, 06:55:06 pm »
Just wanting info because Wyco used to have a good draw of people and now it's to make up a card some weeks.

A. Ace fund is to low
B. Busy playing in tournaments
C. Don't like how the league is run
D. Other - please explain

Please post an answer. Thank you!

None of the above for me, I'm afraid.

* It's a 56-mile drive from my home.
* I play a lot of tournaments, often on Saturdays, so I don't want to wear myself out on Friday night.
* The holes are very long.
* Did I mention it's a 56-mile drive from my home?  ;D

Friday night leagues across the metro are pretty low draws. For me it's mostly the drive, considering I live in Lees Summit. I love the course.

For me it's two reasons. I usually play in the afternoons, and I spend friday evening with my wife.

tourneys on the weekends is the biggest killer for me.

As for the low turnout, it probably averaged ~10-15 consistently, spiking at times.

The other BIGGEST issue is now there are 5 leagues Monday, 3 on Tuesday's, 2 on Wednesday's, 2 on Thursday, and then 2 on Friday now.....it is just simple math unfortunately.

This is why I determined that it just wasn't worth my time to give on Monday's at Cliff any longer.

I usually work on Friday nights. If I had a night off, I would consider WyCo League as one of my many options for the evening.

To far for me...
Dont even know where its at
Seen alot of crime stories on news about that county (murders, homicides, shootings)
Its friday night...
Originally was secret league night
Heard its ridiculous long
Too many gem courses closer to play
To far to drive after Belgium brew
Did I mention it was friday night..usually other plans
Rest day before tournament , if in one.
If I think of anymore reasons I will let you know..  ;)

To far for me..

But worth the drive!

Dont even know where its at

Bonner Springs, KS. Right next to Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. (Sandstone)

Seen alot of crime stories on news about that county (murders, homicides, shootings)

Do you stay away from Swope, Cliff Drive, Rosedale and Water Works for the same reasons? If so, shame on you. But also, WyCo is far west of the inner city so your fears are much more unfounded. Even though they are unfounded in this respect to begin with. What are you really afraid of....  ::)

Its friday night...

A good night to get out and do something fun and different!

Originally was secret league night

What does this even mean? Some sort of inside scoop on a secret league you are teasing everyone with? WyCo has never been a secret league if that's what you mean.

Heard its ridiculous long

What's a matter, you skeered? It isn't anywhere near as long as Blue Valley (MO) or Swope Gold. And it is a gorgeous and peaceful park near a public golf course. You really don't know what you're missing and should make it a point to get out there with your friends and play it. I predict you will love it.

Too many gem courses closer to play

"Variety is the spice of life!"

To far to drive after Belgium brew

Gotta give you that one... Don't drink and drive!

Did I mention it was friday night..usually other plans

But not always....  8)

Rest day before tournament , if in one.

But if you aren't?

If I think of anymore reasons I will let you know..  ;)

I only have one....  I ran WyCo League from it's inception until I moved to Sedalia, MO. I'm two hours away on Friday nights now. But oh how I miss my Fridays at WyCo!!   :'(

If you can get out there once in a while you should if at all possible. Good times to be had.  (That's aimed at everyone Steve... including you  :) )
