Down Under Single Disc 7/2 at 9:00 AM
« on: June 26, 2013, 12:19:37 PM »
Join us out at Rosedale Down Under for a single disc round at 9am.  Leave your bag at home, and bring out your favorite disc. having a spare disc in case of lost disc is allowed, but can only use one disc, unless that one is lost.  $5.00 to play, and depending on turnout winner has two options, take the cash payout, or a bumped up store credit to Mile North.
So if 10 play, $50.00 cash will be available, or $70 in store credit.
If 30 play, We will pay out more places, and each will have option of cash or store credit. 1st $80 cash or $110 store credit, 2nd $50 cash or $70 store credit, 3rd $20 or $30 Store credit.

Any questions, please ask

This is not a tournament.  Just Disc golfers going out, to play a fun round, with a pot on the side! No preregister needed, just show up with disc in hand a $5.00.  Don't have the money, show up anyway!!! Just come out and enjoy some disc golf

Would you consider doing this on a weekend or evening? A lot of people wouldn't be able to make a 9:00 AM weekday round...

Our shop hours only really allow events on Tues, and Thurs....we do weekend events that don't take as long, this weekend have a tombstone round at yates, and throw day at legacy.  Full rounds we have to do on days the shop is closed.  I apologize if this time doesn't work for some people.  I wish I could shut down on weekends!!! But our busiest time is weekends.

Was an example to show how the cash to store credit pay out works.  The turnout will dictate how many places pay out.

Little more detailed break down....payouts represent the two options of taking cash or Store Credit.  Working on the Payouts beyond 20 entries.
We usually only get about 15-20 to our events, but after being encouraged to further promote our little events, will need to revamp and get higher numbers.

We will have lollipops for EVERYONE!!!!

Since it's a bit more organized than seemingly so, did you factor in the $1 per person to the club?

Doesn't seem as if it is an 'event' per se but rather a group of golfers that want to gamble and set constraints on the tools used for play. Not sure why they'd have to pay the club.

cause they are using a Club course as a source of advertisement/product sales and charging an entry and using a club paid for site to do such.. I think It's a fine lines when it comes to disc golf business'.

If that is the case. Nobody other than dues paid club members should only be allowed access to the discussion page. Why attack this guy when others promote "events" all the time on here and not give money to the club. Now I'm about to get attacked!

We've actually had discussions about just that on more than one occasion. This may be something we try to do at some point. We'd keep some public pages available but the bulk of the content would be available only to dues paid club members. Not saying we're for sure going to do that but we have the capability and have discussed it. It won't be anytime soon though so if you're concerned about it you can relax.

And I must also interject that I too enjoy a good lollipop from time-to-time...

I agree with this. If they were running this through the club and/or using the club insurance then this issue would be more cut and dry but as is it is a public park and he is using a website that can be accessed by anyone (though it is a club resource) to advertise it. If this has to pay then should Olathe Glow league also have to pay?

Nobodies being attacked, Don.

It's a DISCUSSION board, things are being DISCUSSED...

What EVENTS are done on KCFDC courses and money not given to the club?

Besides KCFDC, I'm also a LBG (Lawrence Brewer's Guild) forum rat.  They most important part of the forum locks out people that have not paid dues.  Personally, I think it is awesome.

ekolk - going back to when we met the first time at a board meeting - if I had to pay dues, I would have joined sooner.
