Legacy workday 7/21
« on: July 18, 2013, 02:57:16 PM »
Come out this Sunday 7/21 at 4pm for a workday at Legacy Park.  Current approved projects include replacement of basket chains, trash pick up, trimming of weeds between #15 and #16, cutting thorns on trees on #1, #2, #4 and #16.

If you've got weedeaters, electric trimmers, or machetes bring them out.  I've got the rest of the tools needed covered.  Club is providing some refreshments and there will be other surprises (shhh! for those that know) for those helping out.

Once were done with the above list, we will take suggestions for other course improvements to get approved by LSPR.  We've initiated talks of additional pin locations at #9, #10, #12, #14, #16, additional mowing, and poison ivy treatment.

Eric,

Are there plug-ins for electric trimmers out there?  I'm hopeful that I can make it out.  Thanks for posting!

If it doesn't have at least 8 cylinders, how do you expect to cut through the heavy stuff mwahahahaha.....

When I put .15 line on my Husqvarna, it can cut down trees.

The reason I ask is that Eric mentioned electric trimmers.  I personally have a gas powered trimmer thank you very much.  But for those who come out with an electric trimmer, I don't want them to be sadly disappointed.  And P.S., there's a difference between a weedeater and a trimmer. . .

I have a generator, but I havent used in a while.  I will try to get it running and bring it.  I suppose any trimmers, hand, battery or gas, would work too.  Didn't mean to discriminate against other trimmers.

Ha, Eric don't kill yourself here.  I don't think a generator is necessary.  Between you, Jake and I, we should have enough gas powered equipment to make this happen.  No worries.

New chains look great!!!  The entire course has new chains aside from holes 10 and 11 which were ok to begin with.  We also did quite a bit of trim work on the course as well.  The majority of locust trees were "de-thorned" from the ground up to about 5 or 6 feet.  We also took weedeaters to holes 10, 12, 13 and 15.  Eric trimmed around the bridge on 10 and 12.  The creekbed on 13 was trimmed down where you typically land if you hit one of the first trees.  On 15, we trimmed on the fairway side of the creek from the bridge all the way to the long pin.  Kelly was nice enough to bring his mower as well to mulch over it.  Course looks good everyone, get out and play it!!!

Where was the .15 line when we needed it BP?
