Is it lost or is it found?
« on: August 30, 2013, 03:19:24 PM »
Sooo what is the opinion on a person losing a disc in a lake, then months later finding someone using the disc?  It's a specialty dye disc with the name and number marked out. The person says he got it out of the water and "doesn't call people". Seems shameless to me.
Calm down, this is just for fun.

Yep.  It's not abandoned property.  It's temporarily unable to be retrieved.  Same deal as if it's stuck in a tree.  If it has a name and number call the person.  Plain and simple.

Let me offer some advice or for a small fee, I could handle it for you.  Punch in the face, slapchop, or low backhand to the balls.  Always followed by a "god bless".

I told him what I thought of the situation. But it wasn't my disc so I left it at that.
Calm down, this is just for fun.

Don't throw it in the lake, tree and high brush and we would not have this perceived problem.

One more time.....
It is OK to love your disc and date them, but once you get married, they will leave you.
Unless you put it on a nail on the wall.
Get over it.

finders keepers loser weeper. I would offer a buyback of a disc if I could use it before sardonically stating I hope you enjoy my old-crap disc I gave up looking for eons ago because it couldn't clear the water.

I agree if you don't go get you disc back then you are giving it up, so I wouldn't call it theft. I would just say not calling on any found disc is bad karma.
Calm down, this is just for fun.

The thing that sucks about lost discs including wet ones. If you find a lost disc, you don't know how much time was put into looking for it. I have lost discs in the water and spent 30-45 min wading in the water looking for it. The idea that when someone finds and thinks well the thrower did not go in after it kind of sucks.

So I've been thinking about this for a bit. Generally I come in on the if you leave it, don't ever expect to see it again side and will go back after a round is over to hunt down my disc. But I am a decent person and make every attempt to return a found disc.

So this evening, while i was knee deep in that nasty, leech infested, fake turquoise looking excuse for a pond at PC to get back my floating (bubble) destroyer I realized why people feel the way the OP's antagonist felt. So Tom Palmer, if you want your blue boss ace disc back I'm gonna need some compensation for mental anguish (I still feel those nasty critters on my legs!). Couple of hundred oughta cover it unless we let the lawyers get involved, then you know it's gonna be in the thousands. It is and ace disc after all.

:D  Call me.

Nice Dan.  What kind of 6 pack you want?  Also, PM me your number.  I don't believe I have it?
