I can go on for days with possible intentions of individuals that had no malice towards the course or park, the tree is down and needs to be replaced though, and whomever accomplishes that task will walk with Aranyani in nirvana.

well yeah, that was mentioned earlier in this thread. thought maybe they had some reaction. those folks are usually pretty good at their jobs, they didn't notice?

edit: after seeing the pic on facebook I see it is not a black walnut, forget the distinct odor thing.

The whole thing still stinks though.

Ah - this is why it was cut down.  Someone forgot to put a ribbon around it that said, "Do Not Cut".  See, John Houck and Chuck Kennedy really are masters of course design.
