Driving through Kansas City
« on: September 20, 2006, 10:51:24 AM »
Hi Ya'll,

I am getting the pleasure of driving through Kansas City on my way to Atlanta.  I have heard great things about the courses in Kansas City, so I was hoping to hit a course on the way, any suggestions on which course I should go to.

I was planning on taking I-29 to I-70 and I don't want to go too far out of my way to play.

Thanks,

Tim Sweeney

hey Tim,
When are you passing thru? There is league play (actually like a one round tourney) each night of the week in KC. If your able to hit just one course as your passing thru, and don't want to go to far from I-70, I would suggest waterworks park in north kansas city. All of the courses in the KC area are fun to play.

When are you driving through? Unless I find a job soon, I may as well go play during the day.

If you take I-435 south from the airport, you will be passing VERY close to two courses (Cliff Drive and Blue Valley) and Swope is only a few miles south of I-70. I'm no more than 25 minutes from any of these courses.

Let me know...

Right now it looks like I will be heading through Friday afternoon.
Where is the league play on Friday?

Thanks for the information

WyCo is Friday nights.

It would be a little bit west on I-70 but only about 1/4 mile north of the highway on K-7....

We'll be teeing off right at 5:30 unless you get there earlier and get a card of at least three together, then you could start as soon as you're ready.

You would be heading West on I-70 rather than East to get to the course though. It's about 20 to 25 minutes West on I-70 to the course. It's a fun long course and a good league to wind down the week with. If you think you might be out to WyCo you can call me for directions and to let me know you're coming. Just PM me for my number.

Otherwise the closest to you will be Water Works or Cliff Drive.
