From the President: On Volunteering

Kansas City Flying Disc Club - Home of great disc golf!

As we enter the hottest part of the summer the Kansas City Flying Disc Golf (KCFDC) membership is heating up as well.  With the success of Disc Golf Day, the Kansas City Wide Open, and many additional tournaments and league nights the KCFDC membership is at 325 current members!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend our immeasurable gratitude to the KCFDC Volunteers and specifically to Rick Rothstein, Tavish Carduff, Dan Cashen, Jack Lowe and Crazy John Brooks for this year’s successful Thirtieth Kansas City Wide Open.  During the KCWO I had many members ask how they can “get involved?”    Here are a few guidelines.  Go to KCFDC.ORG and look for up to date information on the forum.  Ways to get involved include, planning a tournament, join or create work days on new and existing courses, share disc golf with new groups like kids clubs and at corporate events, and / or join the monthly KCFDC Board Meeting.

Again, a giant thank you to all of the volunteers in our disc golf community, it is only due to our group effort that we have one of the BEST disc golf towns!  Keep up the good work!
