We are a mere month away from the 34th Kansas City Wide Open. Since this is fastapproaching, we thought we would take a moment to tell you about some of the things we have planned for this year’s event.
During the week of the Wide Open we are going to be holding 3 nightly minis at all 3 courses. Monday night we will visit the beast known as Blue Valley. Tuesday night we will meander around the ropes of Swope Gold. Finally, Wednesday night brings the classic Water Works to the limelight for a relaxing round of hills and roll-aways.
Thursday is packed full of disc golf fun as well. The PDGA will be hosting a FREE NT Clinic. Some of the top pros in the game will be on hand to show you and countless others how to better yourself and your game. That will be at Swope Park on May 5th at 4:00 pm near the Pro Shop.
From there we move just North of the course to the Swope Pavilion. There we will have the New Belgium Players’ Party. There will be food and drinks provided to all the competitors. You may also purchase dinner for guests who may be with you. This is also open to local players and enthusiasts alike for a small donation. We will also have fun games set up to play and win prizes. There will also be a Fly Mart featuring all of the sponsors of this year’s event.
Play starts on Friday morning at Blue Valley and Swope Park. Feel free to come out and enjoy the weekend with us as we watch some of the best men and women in our sport battle through the courses. Sunday will be the final round at Swope Park. We encourage you to come out that day and spectate the final round. We estimate the final card, featuring the top 4 men in the Open division, will tee off around 1:30 pm. So come early. There will be food trucks on hand that afternoon serving lunch so there is no need to pack one.
